Malika Bedi grew up in a Christian family and went to church regularly, but she never felt a personal connection with God herself. She spent most of her life trying to be a good person but nothing more than that. In the year 2022 she and her family went through a series of strange experiences that drew her into a vortex of grief.
The string of events started off with her health suddenly declining at the end of 2022. A while later when her health was beginning to get better, tragedy struck her and her husband. They were shocked to find a large sum of money missing from their bank account. Soon they started receiving calls from the hackers for more money. The harassment and blackmail increased to the point that the couple was receiving up to five hundred calls a day! One would think making a formal complaint would help in such a drastic situation, but no, the hackers were unfazed and the police was unable to do much to help. Malika and her husband were grief-stricken – by the financial loss, the constant harassment, and the feeling of being powerless.
Their situation then took an unexpected and strange turn. The factory that Malika and her husband owned was emitting a horrible stench when they opened it one day. Even after having it cleaned by professionals, they found no source or solution to the smell. Slowly they started losing clients and faced an even bigger financial issue than before. One day while praying for strength, Malika remembered she has an uncle who is a pastor. When she called him and asked for help, he was more than willing to come over and pray with her. “An incredible thing happened! When he said ‘Amen’ at the end of the prayer, the smell from the factory miraculously vanished! In that very moment!” she said, elatedly remembering the comfort and peace she felt.
This string of events led Malika and her husband to having a closer and more personal relationship with God. They began praying together as a couple more frequently and involving God in the decisions they made. “We began seeing a shift in our life which was definitely for the good. Not only did we get more work and clients, we felt so much more at peace. There was no more grief that overwhelmed us,” Malika said with a smile. Malika holds dearly to the reassuring reminder of Matthew 8:13 “Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go! Let it be done just as you believed it would.” And his servant was healed at that moment.” She excitedly shares her testimony with those who are facing grief and are overwhelmed with the struggles of life to help them feel the same peace and stillness she now feels.
