In the lively city of Singapore, surrounded by glittering glass buildings and the nonstop pace of city life, Suman Bhardwaj began a journey that would change her life forever. Suman had always dreamed of moving abroad, a dream that had seemed out of reach for many years. When the chance finally came, the girl from Punjab jumped at the chance .
At first, Singapore was everything she had hoped for—vibrant and full of promise but soon, Suman felt a deep sense of loneliness. Despite being in a new place with many people around, she felt alone, as if her voice was lost in the noise of the city. Loneliness gnawed at her.
Everything changed when she met someone who became a bright light in her life. This new friend, who was struggling financially, appreciated Suman’s kindness. In return she invited Suman to share the most valuable thing she knew of, an invitation to a local church.
Suman was unsure about how a church visit could help her but lonely as she was she jumped at the chance to meet other people. As she joined the church service, the comforting words and prayers of the pastor wrapped around her like a warm hug. A verse from Psalms 55:22 stood out to her: “Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken.” It felt like this verse was meant just for her, bringing her a sense of peace and comfort.
This visit was not just a moment of calm but the start of a significant change. Suman’s friend continued to support her and share teachings from the Bible, helping Suman find new strength and purpose. With the two pillars of work and community in place, Suman began to overcome her loneliness. She found her self significantly happier and less isolated.
Today, Suman enjoys a fulfilling life, enriched by her faith. She is active in her church and shares her story with friends and the community in Singapore. Her experience shows the truth of God’s promises and the power of faith.
Suman’s often says, “No matter what you face in life, God will never leave you alone.” She experienced for herself the promise of Isaiah 41:10: “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.”
