As I watched my children play that evening, I couldn’t help but worry. How would I feed them the next day? We had no groceries, no money—nothing!
Roslen Dorthy Lawrence grew up watching her grandparents read the Bible diligently. She was curious—what was it about this book that captivated them so much? Whenever they weren’t around, she would sneak a peek, flipping through its pages to uncover its secrets. Over time, she came to know Christ deeply and marveled at His wonders.
The more she read, the more she felt drawn to Him. Her relationship with God grew, and she prayerfully entrusted her life to Him. In time, she was blessed to marry a man who shared her faith—a man close to God.
As a couple, they faced many hardships, navigating trials with prayer and perseverance. Yet, Roslen couldn’t help but wonder, “Right now, it’s just the two of us. Will I still be able to manage when we have children?” Those fears turned real when their two boys were little. Hardship struck hard. One evening, as Roslen watched her children laugh and play, her heart was heavy. She looked around her kitchen—empty shelves, no food, no money. How could she feed her family the next morning?
Roslen did what she had always done—she prayed. She placed her trust in God, knowing He would provide. And sure enough, out of the blue, she saw her grandmother walking toward her, carrying money and food. Roslen was astonished!
Her husband, ever the encourager, reminded her of Elijah in the wilderness. “Remember,” he said, “God sent ravens to feed Elijah because He instructed them to. If He can command the birds, He will take care of us too.”
As her children grew, new challenges arose. There was a time when her son, then in Class 9, needed a school blazer, and Roslen struggled to find money for it. Yet again, God provided. Miraculously. One day, when her son and his grandmother were walking, they found money lying by the side of the road. When her son brought the money home, they were astonished to find that it was the exact amount they needed to buy a new blazer for him!
Through these experiences, and more, Roslen learned a profound truth: even when she, as an earthly parent, couldn’t provide for her children, their Heavenly Father was always watching over them. He ensured their every need was met. Today, Roslen continues to pray and trust in God’s faithfulness. She has raised her boys to be God-fearing men, and they have been blessed with wives who share their faith and are committed to serving in His Kingdom.
Her legacy of unwavering trust and faith in God continues to impact future generations, shaping her family’s walk with Christ for years to come.
